SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -

Springfield police spent a part of Sunday afternoon with officers working near the scene of a fatal shooting. Officers responded to reports that the suspects involved in a Saturday home invasion were back in the area. The man who shot and killed one of the alleged burglars called police Sunday, saying he saw one of the suspects in the 1100 block of North Missouri Avenue.

Early Saturday morning, Kenneth Fry, 40, was shot while allegedly taking part in a home invasion. Fry died later at a Springfield hospital. The people who live in the home told police Fry was one of four men who forced their way into the home. A man who lived there shot Fry during the break-in.

Sunday afternoon, police responded to a call of two suspicious subjects walking in the area where the burglary/homicide occurred Saturday. When officers arrived, the two men ran away. Officers caught one man and arrest him on an outstanding warrant and for resisting arrest. The other person eluded police. Investigators have not found any links between the subjects involved today and Saturday’s burglary/homicide. Police also can't confirm that they are actually suspects in that case.
