New Orleans—
A prominent Louisiana businessman brutally attacked in the French quarter.The robbery and assault was so bad police have classified it as an attempted murder.
"I felt this huge blow to my head," businessman Malcolm Young said.
Malcolm young says he didn't know what hit him, but he has proof that something did.
"And before I could figure out what happened the cut bottle came down on my forehead and then I had a crushing blow to my leg," Young described.
Young says was walking on Toulouse last Wednesday night when seemingly out of no where someone one jumped him and took him for all he had.
The violent assault and robbery was caught on tape.
Security video reveals the severity of the attack in which his assailant used a bottle to smash him over the head.
That one blow took him out.
"So I was here laying right in here," Young pointed out.
"It was one of the worst attacks I've seen in my career," New Orleans Police Detective Willie Jenkins said.

"The guy was walking he paused momentarily. The perpetrator made a direct b-line for him and just crushed something against his head. Immediately after being struck, the guy went to the ground," Jenkins said.
"I've always felt safe here," Young said.
Young is a prominent Realtor who has build a reputation promoting all that is good about New Orleans, and the downtown area.
But this attack on his life, he says has left him scarred both mentally and physically.
"30 stitches, my ear was cut off and if you can see sewn back together," Young said.
"We just want the public's assistance in getting this guy off the street so this doesn't happen again," Jenkins said.
