OZARK, Mo. -- State Treasurer Sarah Steelman, a Republican candidate for governor, unveiled her plan to combat illegal immigration on Tuesday. Here's a portion of an interview after her news conference.

Steelman responded to critics who say recent testimony that she provided to state lawmakers overstated the impact of illegal immigrants on the state’s economy.

Steelman also talks about the plan that she would like to implement as governor, as well as the difference she sees between her experience in Jefferson City and the work in Washington, D.C. of her Republican rival, U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof.
