DENVER -- Barack Obama is set to give his first speech as the Democrats' presidential nominee and the first black person on a major party's presidential ticket.

An estimated 70,000 people likely will be at Invesco Field for Obama's speech on Thursday night. Lines began forming at the stadium Thursday morning.

This is the first time a presidential candidate has accepted his nomination for his party at an outdoor arena since 1960. John F. Kennedy did it in 1960 in Los Angeles.

There is a lot of drama surrounding this event. There will also be some celebrities. Stevie Wonder and Sheryl Crow are scheduled to perform. Obama likely will focus much of his speech on the economy and kitchen table issues.

The date of the speech coincides with the 45th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech at a rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
