FORSYTH, Mo. -- Just 21 states were selected as official Inaugural service day locations Monday -- and in Missouri, that was right here in the Ozarks.

Forsyth was one of the most unlikely cities to be tapped by the Inaugural committee to host an official service event. In struggling Taney County, while the need is great, the help at First Baptist Church was greater.

With her hours cut back at her fast food job, Hollister's Jenny Cook was quick to take advantage of a free week of food and supplies.

"It'll help out a lot, it's one less week you got to worry about buying food," she said, standing in line at First Baptist Church.

The boxes of bare necessities were courtesy of the International Group, Feed The Children, which reached out to Pastor Paul Purvis when it was looking for an inaugural service partner.

"I think because they recognize Taney County is one of the more struggling counties in our state," said Purvis.
