SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - CVS Caremark has submitted plans to the City of Springfield for a new pharmacy and retail store on the city's south side.
The proposed site listed is 3030 S. Campbell, which is the current location of the Lone Star Steakhouse. The plans also refer to 'improvements to Japanese steakhouse' site. O'Hana Japanese Steakhouse is located immediately east of Lone Star at 310 W. Battlefield. Demolition plans have not yet been submitted for either the O'Hana or Lone Star properties.
The City of Springfield Building Development Services office still must review and approve the plans before a building permit is issued to the the developer.
The new CVS would be located directly across the Battlefield-Campbell intersection from competitor Walgreens.
CVS Caremark currently operates stores at 1735 S. Glenstone (former Osco Drug), as well as 2715 E. Battlefield.
