MERCY HEALTH
Orthopedic Hospital
LOCATION: Evans Rd. at U.S. 65, Springfield
SUMMARY: Mercy Health has begun construction on it's new state-of-the-art, 157,000 sq ft. orthopedic hospital in south Springfield. The 48-bed facility will also include 8 operating rooms, MRI and CT department, and inpatient and outpatient pharmacies. Mercy has said its new hospital will allow it to better serve the needs of the aging baby-boomer population.
OTHER FEATURES: The project also entails the reconfiguration of he Evans Rd./US 65 interchange, and lays the groundwork for a future east-west arterial road that will eventually link 65 with Campbell Ave. and Kansas Expwy. The hospital property will also include walking trails and park areas.
COST: $105-million
