JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri House has spent more than $1,100 in taxpayer money on a security camera to keep watch over a new bronze bust of conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh. House Clerk Adam Crumbliss says today he authorized the camera because of concerns the sculpture of Limbaugh's shoulders and head might be vandalized. The bust went on public display at the Missouri Capitol after lawmakers ended their annual session last Friday.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Residents of a small southwest Missouri town are without any police after their two officers were charged with forging traffic-citation documents. Lanagan Police Chief Larry Marsh and officer Michael Gallahue were indicted on charges of issuing citations referencing a non-existent Missouri statute. Marsh also was indicted for allegedly submitting false information to the attorney general's office.

CLIMAX SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) — Climax Springs school officials are considering how to respond to a report that the district needs more than $3 million in improvements. School officials say they've known for years that the school campus, built in 1938, needed repairs. But voters have rejected three proposed bond issues in the last six years. Superintendent Michael Diekmann says the district will either make repairs with funds on hand or present the issue to voters again.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — After five decades of operation, the University of Missouri Press will close. University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe says today hat the book publishing operation would be phased out beginning in July.
