Jerry Jacob's final farewell

By Brian Vandenberg

Jerry Jacob signed off for the final time on Friday night. Jerry joined KY3 News in 1995. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and is a native of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

Jerry joins the Army on Jan. 11, and hopes to become a medic for the Rangers. He started thinking about this career move on the day after the terrorists' attacks on Sep. 11, 2001. The next day, he inquired about joining the Army but was told he was too old.

Last year, the Army raised its maximum enlistment age to 42, a milestone which Jerry passes on Jan. 24. He says the Army's decision sealed his own decision to serve his country.
