BE ALERT TO SLICK TRAVEL CONDITIONS IN AREAS OF SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA
Wednesday, January 26, 2011 – 10 p.m.
BRISTOL –The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) asks motorists to be alert to snow-covered roads in some areas of southwestern Virginia overnight.
Be alert to the following conditions as of 10 p.m.:
- Be alert to snow and ice patches on Interstates 81 and 77. Be alert to high winds on I-77 in Carroll County.
- Routes 16, 91, 102 and most secondary routes in Tazewell County are snow-covered.
- Primary and secondary routes in Bland County are snow-covered.
- Routes 16, 42 and most secondary routes in Smyth County are snow-covered.
- Most primary routes in Dickenson, Wythe and Grayson counties have snow and ice patches, while secondary routes are snow-covered.
- Most primary and secondary routes in Wise and Washington counties have snow and ice patches.
- Routes 80, 67 and secondary roads in Russell County have snow and ice patches.
- In Buchanan County, be alert to scattered snow and ice patches on Routes 609, 624, 330 and most secondary routes. Unpaved secondary routes are snow-covered.
- Primary routes in Lee and Scott counties are clear.
- Secondary routes in Scott County have snow and ice patches.
