DEER PARK (WPIX)—A Long Island man is in police custody after allegedly luring a teenage boy to perform a sexual act, Suffolk County police said.
Peter Grube, 29, of Deer Park, was apparently on an East Islip street when he spotted the boy. However, his alleged attempted was thwarted by the boy's guardian, who was driving past the scene and took down Grube's license place number, police said.
The incident on Wyandanch Ave. near Main Street around 3:10 p.m. The victim's guardian noticed the odd scenario and quickly intervened, authorities said.
Suffolk County police stopped Grube stopped him shortly after the incident as he was traveling west on Union Boulevard in Bay Shore. Cops said he had illegal prescription drugs in his possession.
Gruber was charged with luring a child and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance his arrest Tuesday afternoon. He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
