( Handout / December 27, 2012 ) The first installment of "The Hobbit" took an undeserved beating from critics. Yes, it's long. Yes, Peter Jackson added stuff that wasn't in the J.R.R. Tolkien book, but it still is beautifully filmed and the acting is pretty much outstanding, especially Martin Freeman as Bilbo and Ian McKellen as Gandalf. |
