His time with the Dolphins ended when the Jacksonville Jaguars picked him in the expansion draft. In 1994, he was listed as active for six games. Salary in 1994: $240,000 Now: Partner in Novak Brothers, a development company building a 114-home community in Georgetown, Texas, with houses ranging from $200,000 to $500,000. The 40-acre development also will have a 250-room, four-star hotel. While playing football, he was a partner in Saber Security Systems in Austin, a company that installs low-voltage wiring and security systems. He later founded IF Development, a company specializing in sales and marketing programs for builders and developers. Novak sued the Jaguars¿ team doctor, alleging he was a vicitm of medical malpractice for how a leg injury was handled. A Jacksonville jury awarded Novak and his wife $5.3 million, a verdict quickly overturned by the presiding judge. Media reports indicate a settlement was reached.
