WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitt Romney is shrugging off his poor showing in Tuesday's contests in Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado. The Republican presidential candidate congratulated rival Rick Santorum, but also told supporters, "I expect to become our nominee with your help."
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — California's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage could eventually head to the U.S. Supreme Court. A three-judge federal appeals court panel on Tuesday ruled the ban unconstitutional, saying it served no purpose other than to deny gay couples marriage.
NEW YORK (AP) — Hotels in New York City have agreed to give their employees panic alarms. The New York Hotel Trades Council says the provision is part of a labor contract the Hotel Association of New York approved last year. The union says it wasn't spurred by the case of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who had been accused of raping a hotel maid before the charges were dropped. The union votes on the agreement Monday.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — There's a new way to get a shot of caffeine, and it has some people concerned. AeroShot is a lipstick-sized tube that contains caffeine powder that's inhaled. It went on the market last month in Massachusetts and New York. But Sen. Charles Schumer of New York wants the Food and Drug Administration to review AeroShot. He fears it'll be used as a club drug.
