Two future Kansas Jayhawks squared off tonight in the Heights gym’s final game. Heights had a lot of pride on the line as it was senior night, but North would like nothing better than to knock off the Falcons for the second straight game.

North handed Heights its second-straight loss 47-38. North’s Conner Frankamp scored as many points as Heights with 38. It was the first time that Heights has lost two straight games since March 7 against Lawrence in the 2008 state semifinals and then to East in the third-place game. Perry Ellis had 11 points.

Northwest took care of business against Southeast with a 72-62 win. Carroll squeaked out a 56-54 win over South behind 17 points from Jordan Bieberle. South’s Diallo Wesley dropped 20 points in the loss.

Salina Central cruised in its 59-38 win over Campus. Andover Central remains perfect as it demolished Valley Center 71-41. Mulvane slid past Buhler 56-55 in overtime. El Dorado came away with the 46-43 win over Winfield behind 15 points from Aaron Riffel and 14 from Trevor Crain.

Augusta dominated Rose Hill 60-46. Augusta’s Brandt Patterson led all players with 16 points. Andale doubled-up on Maize South 70-34 behind 19 points from Gerad Deaver.  Clearwater ran past Wellington 59-48. Collegiate’s Trace Clark scored 18 points to lead all players. Collegiate beat Circle 46-34. Collegiate is now 17-3 on the season.

Cimarron’s Ted Boersma dropped 32 points in a 71-63 win over Southwestern Heights.

Smith Center dominated Osborne 64-44. Alex Hobelmann scored 27 points for the Redmen. Remington used 19 points from Caleb Cherryholmes to defeat Oxford 56-43. Gage Burkes led all players with 24 points for Oxford. Pittsburg-Colgan cruised past Lamar (MO) 58-40.

Horton needed overtime to take down Royal Valley 83-72. Plainville defeated Phillipsburg 68-51. Parsons crushed Coffeyville 80-64. Labette County slid past Fort Scott 60-55. Independence beat Iola in a 42-25 rout.

Girls

GWAL

The Bishop Carroll girls capped off the regular season with a 63-41 win over Wichita South. The Golden Eagles were led by Kayla Demel with 20 points and Jana Reichenberger with 17. Jordyn Miller finished with 11. Kirea Rogers scored a team-high 19 points for South and Odyssey Trussel chipped in 11. The win moved Bishop Carroll to 14-6 on the season while the Titans fell to 12-8.

Heights extended their winning streak to 44 games and improved to 20-0 on the season with an 81-22 thrashing of Wichita North. The Falcons led 28-4 after the first and 60-7 at the half and were led by Taylor Chandler with 17 points. Katie Palmer scored 13, Jada Lynch had 12 and Joyea Marshall finished with 10. North was led by Maddie Northcutt with 10 points.

Northwest snapped a five-game losing streak with a 43-29 win over Southeast. The Grizzlies trailed by four points after the first quarter but outscored the Buffaloes 36-18 over the final three quarters en route to a 14-point win. Shayla Cotman scored a game-high 17 points and Rhiannon Taylor finished with 10. Moriah Plowden scored 13 points for Southeast in the loss.

Kapaun finished the regular season with 65-30 win over West. The Crusaders (16-4, 14-2) only two losses in league play came to top-ranked Heights.

AVCTL Div. I

Salina Central cruised past Campus 58-37 to finished the regular season at 17-3 and 10-2 in Division I.

AVCTL Div. II

Andover Central moved to 14-6 on the year, cruising past Valley Central 65-33. Bayli Palmer scored 15 points, Evan Stamp added 13 and Skylar Snodgrass finished with 11 for the Jaguars. Meagan Williams had game-high 18 points for Valley Center.

AVCTL Div. III

Buhler snagged a 50-45 win over Mulvane led by 21 points from Bridget Winter. Josie Williams added 14 for the Crusaders. Madison Bish scored 18 for Mulvane.

Winfield outscored El Dorado 18-7 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 43-34 win over El Dorado. Ayla Butler scored a game-high 16 points and Alicia Feck scored 15 for the Vikings. Kristen Walker had 13 points for the Wildcats and Andrea Valadez chipped in 10 points.

Rose Hill picked up a 12-point victory in a 60-48 win over Augusta. Kayla Justice paced the way for the Rockets with 21 points. Lakynn Myers added 16 and Emily Harris had 10. Taylor Williams scored 19 for the Orioles and Kalie Robinson finished with 11.

AVCTL Div. IV

Circle slugged out a 24-18 win over Collegiate to close out the regular season at 8-11. Points were at a premium as neither team scored more than nine points in a quarter. The Thunderbirds held the Spartans scoreless in the second quarter and gave up just six, four and eight points in the remaining three quarters. Taylor Adlesperger scored a game-high eight points for Circle. Veronica Taylor and Jerica Skar each scored six for Collegiate.

Andale overcame an early deficit to take down Maize South 45-29 and improve to 17-3 on the year. Wellington picked up a 50-37 win over Clearwater to move to 18-2 on the season.

Other

Remington’s Chelsea Coats scored 20 points to lead all players in a 57-30 win over Oxford. Thomas More Prep nearly doubled-up on Hutch Trinity 51-29. Iola slid by Idependence 36-33. Fort Scott barely beat Labette County 54-53. Parsons dominated Coffeyville 54-32.

Smith Center absolutely crushed Osborne 76-32 behind 31 points from Tangie Hileman.
