SPRINGFIELD -- Dorial Green won't be out of high school until 2012 but he is already on the radar of big time college programs all over the country, including the ones in which he's most interested right now.

"Oklahoma and Mizzou," Green said this week.

Green is 6-feet-5, 206 pounds, and has more than 1,700 yards in receiving and almost 30 touchdowns in less than two years of varsity experience. He also excels in basketball and track.

His size and speed are the main reasons that scouts and fans are not only talking about his college future but his National Football League potential as well. Max Preps, one of the nation's leading scouting services, says "perhaps no sophomore in the country has the physical gifts" that Green has.

With all that talent, Green could also go to college on a basketball scholarship. His choice of schools may depend on the opportunity to play both sports.

"Everybody says I'm a better football player than basketball player," Green said. "But I might end up just playing Division I football and, if I have the chance, walking on in basketball."

Whatever his future, area fans still have two more years to catch one of the top athletes in Springfield football history.
