Omaha--The hot bats of the Arkansas Razorbacks have now followed them to the College World Series in Omaha. The Hogs defeated the second-seeded Cal-State Fullerton Titans 10-6 to open up the double-elimination tourney

The Razorbacks did it the same way they did in the Norman Regional and the Super-Regional in Tallahassee. They scored nine out of their ten runs with two outs.

"Any team playing well will drive in them in with two outs. It's just winning baseball" said Van Horn.

The Hogs jumped out in front of the Titans in the first with two quick runs. But the first big blow of the game came in the third when freshman Zach Cox unloaded for this 13 home run off of Titans starter, freshman Noe Ramirez.

"I was a little too excited" said Ramirez.

But his trouble didn't end there. After the Titans got two back in the bottom of the third, Ramirez loaded the bases in the top of the fourth. Senior Scott Lyons knocked in two runs with a single. Cal-State Fullerton head coach Dave Serrano made the call to the bullpen for another freshman right-hander Tyler Pill. Then, Andy Wilkins smashed the first pitch he saw for a three-run home run.

"He's feeling it right now" said Van Horn of Wilkins hot bat in the post-season.

Fullerton scored two more runs off of Arkansas' ace Dallas Keuchel in the fifth. He went six innings giving up three earned runs on just five hits. He only walked one.

Reliever Mike Bolsinger pitched a scoreless seventh. He then got of jams in both the eighth and the ninth innings to pick up his second save of the post-season.

The win also removes the proverbial monkey off the back of head coach Dave Van Horn.

Van Horn joked "Obviously I'm glad that's over with. I now have a College World Series winning percentage." He had yet to win a game in three College World Series appearances. (2001-2002 Nebraska and 2004 Arkansas)

The Hogs will again play Monday night against the winner of game two, LSU vs. Virgina. The Bayou Bengals took two of three from Arkansas at Baum late in the SEC season.
