Arkansas mum on status of senior guard

By Chris Replogle

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Television station KHOG in northwest Arkansas reported on its Website Thursday that Welsh has been suspended indefinitely by coach John Pelphrey. The station, which did not identify its sources, said it had not confirmed the reason for the suspension.

An Arkansas athletic department spokesman would not confirm the suspension, saying only that Welsh is still a member of the team.

Welsh would be one of two seniors on the Razorbacks in 2009-2010. He started 24 games last season and averaged 11.5 points.

Arkansas recently announced the departure of Jason Henry, who played in 23 games last season as a freshman.
