FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- A special prosecutor decided not to file charges against three University of Arkansas basketball players who were accused of rape. The prosecutor cited insufficient evidence.

Circuit Judge William Storey said Friday that he received a letter from special prosecutor H.G. Foster declining to file charges. Local authorities decided against bringing charges in September but asked Foster to review the case.

University of Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long said "the reputations of the student-athletes falsely accused should be restored." The accuser's attorney, John Bass, said he didn't have any immediate comment.
