Dallas, TX—The Saints rally to beat the Cowboys in a thriller in Dallas, 30-27 on Thanksgiving Day.
The Cowboys lead 27-23 late in the fourth quarter and were on the verge of scoring again. Jon Kitnacompleted a pass to Roy Williams who was raced to the endzone after the catch, but Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins stripped the ball and recovered at the New Orleans 11-yard line with 3:03 to play.
"It being thanksgiving with the game on the line, if I just tackle and he falls to the ground. The game is almost over." Jenkins said after the game. "So to get that play out right there was huge."
Drew Brees used the turnover to score. "What a great play unbelievable for him to make that strip and give us another shot at it." Brees said." Another opporunity. I think for us we knew what we had to do."
Drew Brees lead the Saints on a game-winning 67 yard drive with under 2 minutes to go, eventually hitting Lance Moore with a 12 yard touchdown that put the Saints up 30-27. The drama didn't end there. The Cowboys moved the ball close enough to attempt a field goal, but David Buehler's 59 yard kick to tie the game went wide left with 25 seconds to play. That sealed the Saints victory.
The Saints blew a 17-0 first half lead. Running Back Chris Ivory ran for two touchdowns in the first quarter. They lead 20-6 at halftime.
