LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas coach John Pelphrey says he's
"excited" for Patrick Beverley after the former Razorback was drafted in the second round of the NBA draft last week.
Beverley, who played two seasons for the Razorbacks, said recently that someone wrote a paper for him while he was at Arkansas. He also made comments that implicated teammates, but later backed off those statements.
On Monday, Pelphrey showed no animosity toward Beverley, who was
suspended from the Razorbacks last August and left to play for a
Ukrainian team.
Beverley was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Miami
Heat acquired him in a trade.
Arkansas struggled after Beverley's departure, winning only two
Southeastern Conference games last season. The Razorbacks return
all five starters next season.
