FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Media reports have surfaced in Northwest Arkansas saying the University of Arkansas is waiting on clarification whether it has violated NCAA rules after three basketball players posed in a local magazine. Courtney Fortson, Jeff Peterson and Rotnei Clarke are highlighted in a cover story in this month's Celebrate Arkansas magazine. Redshirt sophomore Peterson prepped a year in Springfield before moving to Washington, D.C., to finish his high school career.
The magazine highlights some new fashion looks from several northwest Arkansas stores. The players did nothing wrong appearing in the magazine photo shoot at Bud Walton Arena. However, the University is concerned about the advertisements next to the players pointing out where you can buy the clothes.
The NCAA has yet to comment on the issue.
