  5. Father, 2 sons declined ride before dying after getting lost hiking in frigid rain

    BLACK, Mo. -- A father and two of his young sons died after getting lost on a hiking trip in Reynolds County on Saturday in the frigid air.&nbsp; David Decareaux, 36, of Millstadt, Ill., was an Air Force veteran known as an experienced hiker.&nbsp; His sons were 8 and 10 years old.&nbsp; Before they got lost, a retired police officer spotted Decareaux and his sons and offered them a ride, but they declined.
