    Sarah grew up in the Kansas City area and became interested in a career as a meteorologist while in elementary school. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Kansas in 2006. Before coming to KY3, Sarah was a student broadcaster for KUJH-TV on the KU campus for three semesters and then worked as a broadcast meteorologist at 6News in Lawrence, Kansas for two years. She has been the weekend morning meteorologist at KY3 since October of 2008. In her time at KY3 she has covered extreme weather events ranging from blizzards and ice storms to tornado outbreaks, including the New Year's Eve 2010 tornadoes, the Leap Day 2012 tornadoes and coverage of the Joplin EF5 system as it progressed through the region. Sarah is glad to be a meteorologist in the Midwest where the weather offers many challenges and constantly changes.
