Dorothy Fuchs, Josh Guerke and Megan McCracken attended the 2nd Annual Crab Bash. (July 6, 2011) |
On Tuesday night, 10 regional chefs will compete in a Best Crab Dish contest at the third annual Crab Bash hosted by the B&O American Brasserie and the Hotel Monaco Baltimore. The event is a benefit for the National Aquarium.
The very best thing about the Crab Bash -- it's True Blue certified, so every crab thing you taste will have been made with Maryland crab meat. Awesomeness!
Each crab dish will be judged by both attendees and a panel of local celebrity judges including Baltimore Magazine food editor Suzanne Loudermilk, Urbanite magazine's Tracey Middlekauff, WJZ's Tim Williams and MIX 106.5's Reagan Warfield.
Here are the competing chefs:
Thomas Dunklin, B&O American Brasserie
Chad Wells, Alewife
Wilbur Cox, The Wine Market
Chad Gauss, The Food Market
Jerry Edwards, Chef's Expressions
Bernard Dehaene, Corner BYOB
Mark Miranda, Rusty Scupper
Guillermo Tellez, Square 1682 (Philadelphia)
Jerry Zheng, Zentan (Washington, D.C)
Derek Simcik, Atwood Cafe (Chicago)
For an admission fee of $50 guests are invited to watch the chefs battle it out, sample their dishes, enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres from Thomas Dunklin, the B&O Brasserie's executive chef, and a complimentary cocktail created for the event by a member of the Baltimore Bartenders' Guild. Admission also includes entrance into a raffle for a free night stay at the Hotel Monaco Baltimore.
