A man was dragged down the block after being hit by a car in the South Side neighborhood of East Chatham, police said.A dark sedan struck the man near the intersection of 83rd Street and Ingleside Avenue around 11 p.m. Tuesday and then drove off, police said.
Two officers in a squad car saw the accident and stayed with the man while radioing a description of the car, police said. Officers in the neighboring district found the car in the 8200 block of South Blackstone Avenue, less than a mile away.
Three people were taken into custody from a home near where the car was found, but no charges have been filed.
The victim was is in serious condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.@peternickeas
