  3. Oklahoma court sets execution date for man who murdered man in southwest Missouri

    (Jan. 17, 2013) OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An execution date is set for a man convicted of killing a woman from Bixby in 1999.  The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals and the attorney general's office said Wednesday that Steven Thacker, 42, is to be put to death on March 12.   Appeals, however, could postpone that date.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Nearly 11 months after a high-speed crash killed two people, a man from Springfield is charged for their deaths.  Greene County prosecutors charged Sean Masten, 24, on Wednesday with two counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter.  Investigators believe Masten was high on methamphetamine at the time.

    FORSYTH, Mo. -- A fourth person is charged for the murders of a couple from Willard in 2011.   The Taney County grand jury handed up an indictment on Wednesday against Windy Friend for two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder for the deaths of Rusty and Becky Porter, who lived in northern Greene County.  Windy Friend appeared in court on the charges on Thursday morning.
