The workout game
Wii Fit Plus (tried on Wii) -- Adolph applauded the focus on posture, balance, body-mass index, and the sheer fun of games that had her throwing virtual snowballs. Conclusion: "For a beginner or inactive kids, it's a great way to start."
EA SPORTS Active 2 (tried on PlayStation 3; also available for Wii and Xbox 360) -- This game gave Adolph a reading of her pulse and calories burned. That impressed her. The workout mixed cardio, strength and agility -- from running (in place) to virtual soccer goalkeeping. Adolph even broke a sweat. Conclusion: "This seems like a pretty complete workout."
Your Shape (tried on Xbox 360 with Kinect) Though she broke a sweat, Adolph found the quality of the exercises and instructions hit and miss. It was, however, the hands-down winner on coolness, reproducing a virtual version of Adolph and her movements on the screen as she worked out.. Conclusion: "It sort of falls in between the other two."
