A rocky start Saturday was too much for William and Mary’s men to overcome, and they lost 70-59 at Colonial Athletic Association rival Hofstra.
Taran Buie scored 24 points for the Pride (5-11, 2-1), which led 9-0 and 16-2.
Brandon Britt led W&M (7-8, 1-3) with 21 points, shooting 8-for-16. Marcus Thornton’s 17 points included 9-of-11 free-throw shooting, and Kyle Gaillard had 10 points.
W&M pulled to 48-44 with more than seven minutes left, but Hofstra regained command with a 7-0 burst.
