1. Occupy Wall Street activists cool to celebrities' visit

Most groups that count on donations might welcome nods of support from someone with the deep pockets of superstar Kanye West or the influence of activist and MSNBC host Al Sharpton.

  3. Susan Sarandon: Dumb Woman Talking

The hyperbole from the left is getting more extreme with each passing day. Several weeks ago actor Morgan Freeman claimed the Tea Party movement was “racist.” Last Friday, actor Sean Penn called the Tea Party the group that wanted to “get the N-word out of the White House” and “lynch” the President. These foolish actors have not seen or must not understand the latest polls which show African American Herman Cain as the Tea Party’s favorite candidate.

  5. Horror films: Are they anti-religious?

It's Halloween and time to revisit films that help us stare down our most primal fears. But beware: You'll often see religious themes -- actually, anti-religious ones -- woven deeply into the storylines.

  11. Into the Abyss

Werner Herzog gave us the interesting (but long) documentary Cave of Forgotten Dreams earlier this year. He did the interesting documentary Grizzly Man years ago.I enjoyed them more than his regular feature films, which usually have great scenes but are always disappointing (although it was nice to see San Diego in My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?).
