In 1965, Bill Cosby played the leading role in "I Spy," becoming the first African American to co-star on a television series and winning three consecutive Emmys in the process. In the '70s, he created the cartoons "Fat Albert" and "The Cosby Kids," both of which were hits. Then in the '80s, of course, was "The Cosby Show," which got about as big as a sitcom can get.
