  1. Nickelodeon TV says Romney skipped kids' questions

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mitt Romney may want to reconsider his campaign strategy involving the pint-size voters of tomorrow. The Republican presidential candidate skipped the chance to take part in Nickelodeon's "Kids Pick the President" special that...

  3. Lies, damn lies, and Big Bird

Two of the more memorable observations to come out of Mitt Romney during the first presidential debate had to do with fibs and Big Bird. The candidate said that as the father of sons, he knows that repeating a lie doesn't make it true. As to the latter?...

  5. Don't ban the bird: 10 reasons PBS is the [bleep]

Last night's presidential debate was a controversial one, as most modern political events tend to be these days. One of the biggest talkers coming out of the first debate was GOP contender Mitt Romney straight up admitting that he's going to cut PBS from the budget if he's elected to office. Like most people watching the debate under the age of 46, I was devastated. Here's the thing: I'm not here to discuss how odd it was that eliminating PBS was the first thing Romney went to when talking about things to cut from the budget. I'm not here to discuss how he then said <em>"..but I love Big Bird"</em> like when a racist person says something racist and then backtracks by saying <em>"..err, I'm not racist though. Five black people have been to my house!"</em> I don't even disagree that some of the stuff on PBS is horrible and should get cancelled. ("Barney and Friends"? "Antiques Roadshow"? I'm looking at you.) What I am here to discuss are 10 reasons Romney should reconsider:

  9. Ozomatli's new 'Ozokidz' album isn't just child's play

If you've ever attended an Ozomatli concert, you know it's sort of like being swept up in a Disneyland parade for adults. The unclassifiable L.A. band -- OK, call its members Latino-hip-hop-reggae-rockers, if you must -- is known for a kinetically feel-good performance style that has set audiences swaying and jumping from L.A. to Myanmar, where Ozo once toured on behalf of the U.S. State Department.

  17. 'Sesame Street' aims to nip bullying in the bud

We all know that&nbsp;many bullies get their start in the sandbox, not the boardroom, and that their youngest victims&nbsp;can nurture the resulting hurt for a&nbsp;lifetime.&nbsp; No surprise, then, that next week, "Sesame Street's" Big Bird and Elmo--who despite their agelessness have been around a long time--will tackle the subject of bullying in its earliest phases.
