1. Bill Cosby Does Stand-Up at The Palace Theatre in Stamford on March 16

In 1965, Bill Cosby played the leading role in "I Spy," becoming the first African American to co-star on a television series and winning three consecutive Emmys in the process. In the '70s, he created the cartoons "Fat Albert" and "The Cosby Kids," both of which were hits. Then in the '80s, of course, was "The Cosby Show," which got about as big as a sitcom can get. And now, in 2013, 50 years into Cosby's career, he's still doing stand up. He'll be at the Palace Theatre in Stamford Saturday night.

  3. Update: Epic Sound's Jada-Amina Harvey makes it to semifinals, Kuumba Lynx wins finals

The words and rhymes of 12 high school poets competing in the individual finals of the Louder Than a Bomb slam poetry festival echoed off the marble walls of the Chicago Cultural Center Wednesday night. Jada-Amina Harvey, a member of Kenwood Academy's Epic Sound slam team, was one of the poets whose scores in the semifinal round garnered her the opportunity to perform her poem in front of a packed audience that included Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Her semi-autobiographical poem described a young African-American girl's struggles and successes.

  13. Lewis Black Performs at The Palace Theatre in Stamford on Feb. 23

Lewis Black is an angry dude. But he's funny too, so it's OK. The quintessential pissed-off stand-up comedian, who became famous thanks to his appearances on "The Daily Show," will be at Stamford's Palace Theatre this Saturday to rant about annoying things and point out the absurdities of the world around us.

  15. Sighting: Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield reunite in Chicago supermarket

Chicago once again played host to a Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield reunion Saturday, just like it did when the two former boxing rivals appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2009. But rather than reunite in front of a live studio audience, they smiled and hugged at the Jewel-Osco at 1655 E. 95th St.

  19. Louis C.K. Performs at The Palace Theatre in Stamford on April 5

Louis C.K. is one of our generation's most representative comedians. He's irreverent, boundary-pushing and kind of lazy and grumpy, but in a charming way. He's honest because there's no reason not to be. And he doesn't put up with shit from anybody. You know how ticket agencies charge you all kinds of stupid fees and you have to buy through them because there's no other way to get tickets for stuff? Louis C.K. set it up so that in order to see his show, you have to buy tickets through his site for a flat $45. There's no middle man, and no extra fees. He's popular enough that he can do things like that, and that alone is reason enough to go see him. But he's funny as hell too.
