Born July 30, 1976, he was the son of Martin W. and Sandra L. (Hebb) Neal of Boonsboro.
David was a 1995 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick.
He worked for South Mountain Collision and Auto Center in Middletown, Md., for the past three years, and was also a custodian for the Frederick County Public School system in the evenings.
David will be remembered as a “free spirit” and for his love and collection of Chrysler and Dodge-made vehicles.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by a daughter, Bridget Marie of Hagerstown; a son, Bret Alexander of Hagerstown; two brothers, Kenneth Neal and his significant other, Kellie Smith, of Thurmont, Md., and Wayne Neal and his wife, Heidi, of Myersville, Md.; his maternal grandmother, Ellen Hebb; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth Neal and Madeline Zeigler; two nieces, Kayla and Marissa Neal; two nephews, Kenneth Neal II and Daniel Neal; two stepnieces, Turquoise Strohman and Heileen Wingate; a great-nephew, Aiden Conder; and special friends, Kenny and Tammy Keeney, Wayne Getzandanner, Jamaal Butts, Lee Fritz and Gerald Gouker. David also is survived by his pet canine companion, Boo.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carl Hebb; and paternal grandfather, Clyde Zeigler.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Gene W. Renner will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Myersville. The family asks that everyone please come to the viewing and service dressed in casual attire.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the funeral home. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
