The Emma K. Doub Elementary School PTA Family Night at Monkey Joe’s will be Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Canine games night to be held  Jan. 25


Due to a scheduling conflict, the Peaceable Paws dog-training center in Fairplay is moving this month’s My Dog Can Do That canine games to Friday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m.

If your dog can sit or wag its tail, you can play My Dog Can Do That.

Prizes will be awarded.

The dog-training facility is at 17816 Spielman Road in Fairplay.

Boosters to meet at South High

The South Hagerstown High School Sports Boosters Club will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the school media center.

The agenda for the rest of the school year will be discussed. 

Preschool opens

Pastor Stephanie Steele has announced the opening of Spread Your Wings Learning Center at Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave. in Hagerstown.

The preschool program for 3-, 4- and 5-year- olds is modeled after the Maryland state standards for kindergarten readiness.

The two-day program costs $130 per month and the three-day program costs $160 per month.

Flu shot clinics

The Washington County Health Department will hold flu vaccination clinics on the following dates and times:

Today, 1 to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday, 1 to 4:30 p.m.; and Friday, Jan. 25, 1 to 4:30 p.m.

All clinics will be held at the health department’s main building at 1302 Pennsylvania Ave.

Medicare is accepted for adult vaccinations, but no other insurance will be billed.

A donation of $20 is appreciated.
