Poinsettias sale to benefit ag students
The poinsettias cost $8 each.
There will be red, pink, white and spotted varieties. Those interested can stop by the ag building during school hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or call to reserve an order at 301-766-8086.
The sale begins Tuesday.
Chicken and waffle supper
The Clear Spring Lions Club will serve its annual chicken and waffle supper Saturday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, on the corner of Md. 68 and Cumberland Street.
Tickets cost $7 for adults, $4 for those younger than 12, and are free for pre-schoolers. Tickets will only be sold at the door.
The menu includes homemade waffles, chunky chicken gravy, coleslaw, homemade cake, coffee and water.
The supper will be all you can eat and carryout will be available.
The proceeds will benefit the Clear Spring Lions Club’s community projects.
Breakfast with Santa
Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co. will present Breakfast with Santa and holiday bazaar Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co.’s special events building on Big Spring Road.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
The menu consists of pancakes, french toast, sausage gravy, chip beef gravy, ham, sausage, potatoes, fruit and cereal.
Tickets cost $8 for adults and $3 for children.
There will be holiday craft vendors. Soups and sandwiches will be served for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Alumni games
The Clear Spring High School alumni basketball games will be Saturday in the Clear Spring High School gymnasium.
The young grads game will begin at 5:30 p.m. (for alumni graduating in 2003 or later). There will be a 3-point contest at 6:30 p.m.
Then at 7:30 p.m., the game for “seasoned” grads (for alumni graduating in 2002 and earlier) will be played. There is a $10 player donation which includes a T-shirt. Admission will be $2 for fans. Concessions will be available.

Garden Club plans banquet
The Clear Spring Garden Club is preparing for the annual holiday banquet and auction to be held Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.
The meal will be prepared by Marcel’s Catering and the donation of auction items is appreciated.
