Thanksgiving meal to be offered at church

Broadfording Church of the Brethren, at 14010 Greencastle Pike, welcomes those who do not have a place to go for the holiday to attend a community Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. 

If you know of someone who would like a Thanksgiving meal, meals will be available for carryout between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Country western dance

The Country Western Dance Association will hold a dance to celebrates its 23rd anniversary Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Maugansville Ruritan Building, 16007 Maugans Ave. The event will include line dancing for both singles and couples. 

The event is open to the public. Admission costs $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

Pancake breakfast

The Maugansville Ruritan Club will host a pancake breakfast Saturday, Nov. 17, from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at their blue building on Maugans Avenue.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, juice, coffee and tea.

Tickets cost $5.50 for adults, $3 for those ages 6 to 12, and are free to those 5 and younger. 

The lines move quickly and there is plenty of free parking.

 

Christmas bazaar

Trinity United Church of Christ on the square in State Line, Pa., will hold its annual Christmas bazaar today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The bazaar will include gift baskets, homemade crafts, holiday decorations and cards as well as eat-in or take-out homemade soups, hot and cold sandwiches, baked goods, pies and apple dumplings.

 

Historical Society meeting

The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society invites the community to its regular meeting Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at the State Line Ruritan Building off U.S.  11 north at the State Line, Pa., Community Park.
