Helen Jeanne Siropolis Berke, 87, wife of Paul Berke, died Oct. 5 at her home in Wesley Village. She was born July 17, 1925, to Greek immigrant parents Gus and Penelope Siropolis in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from West High School in Cleveland and attended Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where she met and married the love of her life, Paul Berke, on Jan. 31, 1948. In 1972, they moved to Glasgow, where she was an active and faithful member of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church. She was also very proud of her volunteer service at TJ Sampson Community Hospital,  the Red Cross and the Barren County Humane Society.
 She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter Paula Lynne Damron and her husband state Rep. Robert Damron of Nicholasville; son Eric Wallace Berke and wife Annika of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren United States Air Force Capt. Robert P. Damron and wife Amarae, Jared Berke, and Laura Berke; and great-grandson Coltin Ben Damron. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas Constantine Siropolis.

Family and friends were received at Betts & West Funeral Home in Nicholasville on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services following visitation with the Rev. Sewell Woodward officiating. A private, family graveside service and burial was held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
