Here’s an idea to create jobs and generate tax revenue. Legalize marijuana.
Legalizing pot may not be the hig' way to hell that it once was, thanks to some unexpected support from TV preacher man Pat Robertson.
That’s right. The same Pat Robertson who says the Haitian earthquake was the result of a pact with Satan ('They got together and swore a pact to the Devil,' he told his TV audience. 'They said, `We will serve you, if you’ll get us free from the French.` True story.').
The same Pat Robertson who says it`s okay to divorce a spouse who has Alzheimer’s Disease. And the same Pat Robertson who says if a tornado kills your family, you should have prayed harder, has now become a self-proclaimed hippie hero.
'I became sort of a hero of the hippie culture, I guess, when I said I think we ought to decriminalize the possession of marijuana,' he said.
Robertson first made his case for de-criminalizing weed on his 700 Club TV show back in December of 2010. He’s bringing it up again, this time blaming liberal lawmakers for a bulging prison population, which he says could be fixed by not sending kids to prison for pot possession.
'I just think it's shocking how many of these young people wind up in prison and they get turned into hardcore criminals because they had a possession of a very small amount of controlled substance. The whole thing is crazy.'
