LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- The paper bag has had a designer makeover, courtesy of top fashion designer Jil Sander.
But while the traditional paper sack goes for just pennies each, the Jil Sander 'Vasari' retails for a hefty $290.
The bag is made from high-durability coated paper, featuring stitched seams, metal eyelets for ventilation and a prominent logo.
It also comes in a black leather version, which goes for $630.
It seems a little over the top to most, but fashion insiders are calling the Vasari bag a must-have.
W Magazine raves that it is "turning necessity into an indulgence... Forget recycling -- this bag is a keeper."
Last year, Jil Sander sold a $150 acetate carrier (basically, plastic) bag that quickly became an 'it' bag.
