When Adolf Baguma was 6, his aunt burned his legs with a hot banana leaf to punish him for trying to take food.
The boy was never treated for the burns and the back of his legs contracted in a 90-degree angle, making him unable to walk or stand.
Baguma was discovered in an orphanage by local attorney Laine Wagenseller on a trip to Africa.
Wagenseller notified the Children's Burn Foundation which agreed to bring Baguma to the U.S.
He will be staying with Wagonseller family members until he finishes his reconstructive surgeries.
