It took one month of football training for dozens of officers and firefighters for this one day on the field. But it's not about bragging rights; it's to help our youngest neighbors.
"The Boys and Girls Club, Mustard Seed School, and the Firefighters Burn Institute, these are just a few of the agencies that will see the more than $48,000 dollars we'll raise." Captain Jim Cooper with the Sacramento Sheriff's Department says during the 37 years the game has been played, more than a million dollars has gone to helping kids.
But of course the game is always exciting, because these men are playing some serious football. During the final moments it was tense, but the officers pulled out a win in overtime. The final score of The Pig Bowl, 33 to 27.
