With all the near-record cold and snow in many parts of the country, we haven't heard a thing about global warming lately. Must be a warm-weather sport.

President Obama initiates 23 executive actions, and gun sales and NRA memberships go through the roof. Keep it up, Mr. President, and we will have an armed citizenry.

Local news anchors and publications should mention petty criminals' political-party affiliation. After all, they mention affiliations of those in Washington.

The U.S. credit rating was downgraded because of out-of-control borrowing — not because Congress is arguing about it. We're going to get downgraded again, for the same reason.

House Speaker John Boehner is wrong. The president isn't trying to annihilate the Republican Party. He doesn't have to. Members have shown the ability to do that all by themselves.

Oh, how refreshing it was to hear in the inaugural address an agenda for "we the people," instead of what we can do to help the wealthiest among us.

Without benefit of any revenue source, perhaps Gov. Rick Scott should consider donating some of his re-election campaign funds to finance his proposal to offer a $2,500 pay raise for teachers.

If certain youths want to find a job, the first thing they need to do is pull up their pants.

I cannot imagine how anyone can look forward to celebrating a violent and meaningless contest like the Super Bowl — on a Sunday, no less.

Mayor Buddy Dyer apparently sees nothing wrong with no-bid contracts and not trying to save the city any money. Mayors are supposed to save taxpayer money if they can, aren't they?

People should demand that tolls be removed from toll roads that have been paid for.

Perhaps the children who are advising the president on gun control are also his advisers on how to handle the huge national debt.

Finally, Gov. Rick Scott recognizes that maybe the schoolteachers need a raise after six years, but what about the rest of the state employees?

Why don't the Republicans and Congress get their own house in order before picking on Hillary Clinton for the Benghazi mistake?
