Our various arts institutions do not survive on your admission fees alone. So they sell memberships, have fundraisers and solicit grants from organizations such as the United Arts of Central Florida, which hopes to raise $1.57 million from people like you in the next three months. Your donations make many programs and exhibitions possible in Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola counties, such as the one that allowed 14,000 schoolchildren to visit the Orlando Museum of Art last year. That's why the Council of 101, a group of museum supporters, is hosting the "Antiques, Vintage & Garden Show" fundraiser this weekend. Admission is $10 to the event that features furniture, paintings, jewelry and more. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday ; noon- 5 p.m. on Sunday. OMA is at 2416 N. Mills Ave, Orlando; call 407-896-4231 for details.
You can make a donation to UA's general fund and/or designate what institution receives your money by going online to https://artofgivingfl.com/donate/. Please support our arts institutions. No amount is too small.

Third Thursdays Downtown Orlando is Feb. 21, 6-9 p.m. Pick up a free map at CityArts Factory (29 S. Orange Ave.) to find the various venues, all within walking distance. Two that you may want to visit are the University of Central Florida's Center for Emerging Media (500 W. Livingston St.) and the new Donnelly Galleries Orlando (101 S. Garland Ave.) The UCF center is hosting a closing reception for installation artist Brian R. Jobe and sculptor Jason S. Brown, who both explore the relationships of space and context with art. Kinetic artist and photographer Claudia Yagnam is the featured artist at Donnelly. This exhibition debuts her love of repeating patterns, as found in the streets of Paris during a recent sojourn.
