Quick slant: The Gators (9-1) can finish 7-0 in the Swamp after posting a combined 9-5 home record the past two seasons. Florida currently has the nation’s No. 1 strength of schedule - opponents have a combined record of 60-30 (66.7 percent). FCS member Jacksonville State allowed 49 points in losses to Arkansas and UT-Martin, and 51 points in a loss to Eastern Kentucky.

About Jacksonville State: The Gamecocks (6-4) allow an average of 33.4 points and 446.9 yards. Linebacker Rashad Smith had 13 solo tackles and an interception in last week’s 38-23 against Austin Peay. Tailback DaMarcus James averages 104.6 rushing yards and has lost just seven yards on 130 carries.

About Florida: Starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who replaces Jeff Driskel (ankle), is 9 of 13 passing for 95 yards and a touchdown this season. The Gators are six of 27 on third down the past two weeks, but opponents convert 47 percent on Jacksonville State. Florida averaged 259 yards the past four games.

What to watch

1. Opponents have outscored the Gamecocks (5-4) 98-59 in the first quarter, when Florida has been outscored 33-27.

2. Running back Mike Gillislee needs 158 yards to become Florida’s first 1,000-yard rusher since Ciatrick Fason in 2004.

3. Florida has allowed 31 sacks (13th of 14 SEC teams), but Jacksonville State has just 10 this season.
