  1. Brandon Beck

Brandon began his weather career with KY3 in 1996, a couple of months before he graduated from Evangel University.  His first role was weekend weather, and tornado warnings were issued six out of the first nine weekends on the job.  In 2000 legendary Ozarks weathercaster Tom Dye retired; Ron Hearst moved from morning weather to nights and Brandon moved from weekends to mornings.  At that time Ozarks Today was just 30 minutes long, from 6:30 to 7:00 a.m.  Over the years the show has expanded several times and is now from 5:00 to 7:00 a.m.  A typical morning begins around 2:30 a.m. for Brandon, depending on the weather.  With impending winter storms he might arrive at work as early as 1:30 a.m.

  15. Kevin Lighty

Dreams do come true. I know because I'm living my childhood dream. I grew up in a very small town in Indiana named Veedersburg. I've had a fascination with weather as far back as I can remember to my days as a 4 year old boy that watched storms from my living room window. I was so intrigued by what was going on but at the same time so scared watching these storms to a point that tears would run down my face from being frightened, but nothing could tear me away from watching these storms no matter how scared I might have been. Soon the fear turned into pure passion for the love of weather. I would constantly monitor other TV station forecasts and I always looked forward to the days that would bring bad weather to my area.
