The sight couldn’t have been easy for Ravens fans: Ed Reed wearing a Houston Texans’ hat and later holding up a blue No. 20 jersey.

  5. Ravens news, notes and opinions on Orioles, Ed Reed, Bryant McKinnie and more

As the Orioles and Ravens try to work out a scheduling conflict that has put in jeopardy the NFL’s hopes of opening up the regular season on Thursday, Sept. 5 at M&T Bank Stadium, the relationship between the two downtown neighbors has again come under scrutiny. That’s a shame because over the past year or so, the synergy between the Orioles and Ravens never appeared better. Ravens players wore cartoon bird hats and frequently brought up the Orioles during their playoff run. When the Orioles played the New York Yankees at home in Game 2 of their playoff series, half the Ravens’ roster was at Camden Yards.

  7. Ed Reed agrees to a deal with the Houston Texans

For so long, they had been the two faces of one of the league’s most dominant defenses, Ray Lewis the punishing tackler and Ed Reed the unrelenting ball hawk. Now, they are both gone and the mass exodus from the Ravens defense continues.

  9. Why is Baltimore standing by while the Ravens turn into the Florida Marlins of football?

What is wrong with this town? I know there are tons of people out there in Baltimore who are as angry at what just happened to our Super Bowl team as I am, but where is their voice?

  13. Give mayor's tax plan a chance to work

Excuse me, but what are my fellow Baltimoreans complaining about? The mayor has proposed doing something to avoid an all-out collapse of the city's finances, and some citizens of Paradise-on-the-Patapsco are annoyed, confused or just so cranky and fed up with February they need a good cheesesteak sub from Captain Harvey's.

  17. Ed Reed through the years

April 20, 2002: A season removed from winning their first Super Bowl, the Ravens take Reed, a play-making free safety out of the University of Miami, with the 24th pick in the 2002 Draft. Then minority owner Steve Bisciotti wanted University of Florida cornerback Lito Sheppard, but General Manager Ozzie Newsome stuck to his draft board.

  19. Upbeat Harbaugh not sweating Ravens' losses, hopeful of Reed return

The reality of the Ravens’ salary cap situation and post Super Bowl XLVII world hit coach John Harbaugh early last week. With the Ravens failing to convince wide receiver Anquan Boldin to take a pay cut and not willing to carry his $6 million salary cap hit, Harbaugh knew exactly who to call.
