10. Philadelphia Tuskegee Airman Reshapes History

Bertram Levy was a member of the grounds crew for the famed Tuskegee Airmen. In February of 2012 he sat down for an interview with Eye Opener Philly's, Ashley Johnson. In this video clip from the interview, Bertram recalls the bonds that united all the airmen and crew; equality, pride and the desire to fly. In his 89 years, Bertram has seen great change in the United States. And although he has seen terrible acts of racism at times in his life, the progress he has seen makes him more hopeful of the "dream version of America." Upon seeing the first black man elected president and watching the ceremony, Bertram said, "I literally cried."

18. 'Red Tails' review: "Corny" and "phony" shouldn't describe a movie about real WWII heroism

*1/2 (out of four)
*1/2 (out of four) Unlike its TV commercial, “Red Tails” thankfully features no dubstep music. (Besides, everyone knows WWII pilots were mostly into chillwave.) It’s one of the few things the movie does right. Dramatizing the program...

20. Heroism loses to Hollywood in 'Red Tails' — 2 stars

"Red Tails"squanders a great subject, reducing the real-life struggles and fierce heroics of the Tuskegee Airmen to rickety cliche. Some of the action is fun. But if something about that statement doesn't sound right, well, there's your chief problem with "Red Tails." It sets out to ingratiate without provocation or complexity.
