    <span style="font-size: small;">A few clouds and light showers in south central Kansas this morning should diminish by mid morning.&nbsp; Clouds will also give way to plenty of sunshine through the afternoon hours.&nbsp; If you have outdoor activities planned today, the humidity will factor into the heat.&nbsp; The heat index will approach 105 by afternoon.&nbsp; Afternoon highs will range from the upper 90s in the northern half of the state to near 105 in southwest Kansas.</span>

    As has been the case the past few days, we are watching thunderstorms over Colorado that are moving east-northeast toward western Kansas.&nbsp; These storms will advance into the region later this evening.&nbsp; A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for the Goodland, Saint Francis and Colby area until 11 p.m. MDT. Large hail, high winds and some heavy rainfall will be possible.
