  5. Driver of stolen car leads Lancaster Police on dangerous chase

    The driver of a stolen car led police on a dangerous chase through the city before finally being taken into custody Monday evening. Steven Reth, 21, was spotted driving a black Acura RX, stolen in Manheim Township last Friday, by a concerned citizen who followed the car and called police around 5pm. Manheim Township Poilice were looking for the stolen car in the area of the Millersville Pike. The caller lost the car in the city. Two Lancaster City officers spotted the car at Union and Dorwart Streets and attempted to stop Reth. Reth did not pull over when the officers engaged their lights and sirens, and actually began to accelerate to elude the officers. Reth ran a red light at the intersection of South Prince and Hazel, then another at South Prince and Seymour.

    A Mainheim Township man disagrees with a Lancaster County restaurant’s decision to offer a "Church Bulletin" discount to its patrons.  John Wolff is an atheist who says church goers are not better than other people.  Therefore, they should not receive a special discount.  Instead he says the owners of Prudhomme's Lost Cajun Kitchen in Columbia, Lancaster County should offer an all inclusive Sunday discount.

  13. Lancaster County Man Killed in Headon Crash Wednesday Morning in Lebanon County

    A Lancaster County man is dead after his vehicle slams nearly headon into a dump truck in Lebanon County. Pennsylvania State Police say that 28 year old Brian Walter, of Reinholds, was travelling south in a 1989 Jeep on Route 501 at around 7:45 Wednesday morning. For some unknown reason, Walter, as he was approaching the intersection of Springhaven Road, lost control of his Jeep. He crossed over the center line and slammed into the northbound Freightliner dump truck, driven by 55 year old Simon Dershem, of Milton.
